Scanning of Slides and Negatives to CD or DVD
The shift to digital capture and storage of photographic images means that in the near future it may not be possible to have your negatives or slides printed.
As film sales drop there will come a time when it will not be viable for photo labs like us to offer a film processing service and as equipment evolves and changes the printing of negatives or slides may not be an option on new equipment. Have you noticed that the mass merchandiser have not offered a film processing service for years? And how would you go about printing images from a 3 ½ " disk never mind the old 51/4" floppy. Will negatives and slides go the same way as the floppy disk?
While it is still possible have your precious memories transferred to a digital format so that future generations can enjoy them. Properly stored the images on CDs and DVDs will last for years without the loss of quality associated with negatives and slides and can easily be transferred to whatever media will replace the present CDs and DVDs in the future.
We can offer a range of options on slide and negative scanning to suite your needs. Individual images can be scanned at 6 MB or 21mb in either a jpg. or Bmp./ Tiff. format to either CD or DVD. As DVDs have approx 6 time the capacity of CDs that is the way to go if you have a large number of images and/or large file sizes. In addition DVD storage enables us to offer you the option of producing a slide show of your images to play through your DVD player.
